About Me

My name is Christian Mackey. I grew up in Charlotte, NC as the oldest of four children and have spent my career in finance. I began in investment banking, primarily advising family- and founder-led businesses, and later worked in private equity evaluating companies across business services, healthcare, and consumer sectors.

That experience gave me a strong foundation in analyzing businesses and structuring transactions, while also working closely with management teams through moments of growth, challenge, and transition. What I found most meaningful, though, was working alongside the people who built and led these companies and understanding what made their businesses endure.

I graduated from Morehouse College and earned my MBA from Harvard Business School. After years of advising from the outside, I’m ready to step in and operate. My goal is to acquire and lead one business over the long term.

I’m looking to acquire a business from an owner in the Southeast who is ready to transition and wants to know their company will be in good hands. I plan to lead day-to-day operations, invest personally alongside a small group of experienced investors, and preserve what’s working while positioning the company for its next chapter.

I’m based in Charlotte. Darby Chase was the street I grew up on — the name is a nod to my roots here.
